[Ghana] Kwabena Duffour appointed Managing Director of UniBank

The board of UniBank in Ghana has appointed Dr. Kwabena Duffour as the bank’s new Managing Director with the appointment taking effect from June 1 2017.

Prior to his appointment Dr. Duffour II was the Chief Operating Officer of the bank. His appointment is subject to the approval of the Bank of Ghana. Dr. Duffuor II takes over from Mr. Felix Nyarko-Pong, whose tenure ends on the 1st of June 2017.

Dr. Duffuor II since rejoining the bank in 2012 as an Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer assisted the MD in leading the Management team. He also helped the bank to attain its current enviable position within the banking fraternity.

Kwabena Duffuor II holds a PhD in Finance, an Msc Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School, City of London, UK, and a degree in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Southampton.

He has more than nine years banking experience both locally and internationally. He worked with Ghana International Bank Plc, uniBank (Ghana) Ltd and Standard Chartered Bank in various departments including, Retail Banking, Treasury Operations and Credit Risk Management.
