FNB Namibia makes new appointments in finance and foreign exchange departments

FNB Namibia has appointed Anneke Steenkamp as new finance manager and Gift Garoeb as the new foreign exchange specialist.

Anneke holds a Bachelor of Accounting Honours degree and has completed her articles with KPMG. She also obtained her Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) qualification powered by AICPA (the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), two of the world’s leading accounting organisations, and completed the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification.

In her new role, Anneke will be responsible to drive cost efficiencies and revenue generation, budgeting and budget control and will be accountable for profitability analysis. Her role also requires her to make strategic recommendations to the business unit heads in the consumer segment and to ensure that sound financial management practices and standards are adhered to. Anneke has been part of FNB Namibia for the past twelve years and has been responsible for MIS and costing in the finance division. “I really enjoy working for FNB and I have grown a lot in my time here,” she said.

Gift holds an International Baccalaureate Diploma and is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics. Prior to joining Consumer Banking, he was instrumental in the development and growth of a privately-owned bureau de change from a small business concern to the premier (non-bank) bureau de change in Namibia.

In his new role, Gift will be responsible for the strategic positioning and growth of FNB’s foreign exchange products, the introduction of innovative retail foreign exchange products and services and driving and maximizing the sale of FNB’s retail foreign exchange products, amongst other duties.
