[Egypt] Jumia Food opens online platform partnering with 20 restaurants

Online food delivery platform, Jumia Food is set to open its doors having partnered with 20 restaurants across Asian stores, Italian restaurants and popular fast food joints as it seeks to tap into growing middle class.

The platform, formerly known as Hellofood.ma and subsidiary of Jumia Group, is the leading e-commerce platform in Morocco.

After serving three of Morocco’s major cities, Casablanca, Rabat and Marrakech the platform will allow Tangier inhabitants to take food delivery via its website, hotline and mobile application. They will also have the choice either to pre-order their food online and come pick it directly from the restaurant, or take advantage of the exclusive delivery service the platform offers for well-known restaurants like McDonald’s and Burger King.

This expansion come to meet an increasing demand from the city’s inhabitants expressed, among other channels, on social media. It also highlights Jumia Food’s perspective to provide online food delivery, in the mid-term, in all Moroccan cities.

“The choice of Tangier as a fourth city is motivated by the fact that Tangier is a connected city with a tech-friendly population and embodies all the necessary conditions to welcome an online service like Jumia Food,” said Jumia Food.
