Eaton Towers Africa Appoints Jimmy Eisenstein as Chairman

Eaton Towers, a leading independent telecom tower company in Africa, today announced the appointment of Jimmy Eisenstein as Non-Executive Chairman.

Jimmy was co-founder in 1995 of American Tower Corporation, today the world’s most valuable listed tower company, where he was responsible for all acquisitions and development.  Retiring from ATC in 2004, Jimmy has since been a founder and CEO of a number of wireless companies, including Concourse Communications, Optasite and since 2010 Grupo TorreSur, the largest privately-held towerco in Brazil.

Jimmy takes over as Eaton Towers moves to its next stage of development, owning over 5000 towers (pro forma for acquisitions) across seven countries in Africa. Eaton Towers is majority owned by the sixth global emerging markets private equity fund ($3 billion) of Capital Group Private Markets and minority shareholders, including a private equity fund advised by DPI and management.

Jimmy Eisenstein said: "I am delighted to become Chairman of Eaton Towers at this exciting stage of the Company's development. I want to thank our outgoing Chairman and Co-Founder, Sanjiv Ahuja, for his leadership during this period of dramatic growth, and I am most appreciative that he has agreed to continue as a Director of the Company. I look forward to working with Sanjiv and the full Board as we continue to build Eaton Towers in the years ahead."
