Delta’s Europe, Middle East and Africa exec named SkyTeam CEO
Delta Air Lines Inc.’s global air alliance SkyTeam has new leadership. SkyTeam on Thursday named Perry Cantarutti CEO and Michael Wisbrunchairman of the governing board.
Leo van Wijk retired after more than eight years as the chairman of the alliance.
Cantarutti joins SkyTeam from Atlanta-based Delta (NYSE: DAL), where he was senior vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Delta credited him with maximizing the profitability of the airline’s trans-Atlantic operations and identifying growth opportunities for its joint venture with Air France, KLM and Alitalia.
SkyTeam’s members: Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, Alitalia, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Garuda Indonesia, Kenya Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Middle East Airlines, Saudia, TAROM, Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Airlines. SkyTeam flies 665 million customers annually on more than 16,270 daily flights to 1,057 destinations in 179 countries.
