Cost Plus World Market launches CRAFT Africa Collection in select stores and online

Cost Plus World Market® has launched its latest focused collection of artisan crafts with CRAFT Africa Collection, in select stores and online. World Market® buyers journeyed through African countries, including South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana and Ethiopia, to explore an astounding array of artisan-crafted pieces inspired by ancient traditions.

The authentic beaded jewelry, tribal headdress wall art, hand carved wood decor and handwoven baskets have their own unique stories.

Sourced from more than a dozen countries in Africa, each piece in the CRAFT Africa Collection is limited in production and has been handcrafted, which means each item is one of a kind.

And, from a Samburu tribe warrior hand beading a colorful Maasai choker to the female owner of a banana leaf basket company, each artisan’s story is as unique as the beautiful pieces they’re creating. Bringing these items into a home can spark conversation, inspire one to travel or simply add an eclectic global vibe to your decor.

The CRAFT program will change countries or regions every few months and gives World Market customers exposure to a country’s rich cultural history through artisan crafts. While World Market is already well-known for its imported crafts and decorative accessories, CRAFT is an extension of a belief that has been with the company since its founding in San Francisco in 1958: to travel the world to bring unique and authentic items for the home to our customers.

Cost Plus World Market (www.worldmarket.com) operates 279 stores in 37 states and the District of Columbia under the World Market® and Cost Plus World Market® trademarks.

The stores feature an ever-changing selection of casual home décor and furniture, housewares, gifts, jewelry, decorative accessories, over 500 international wines, gourmet foods, and beverages offered at affordable prices and imported from more than 50 countries.

Many items are unique and exclusive to World Market and are regularly supplied by an international network of individual and regional artisans developed over the Company’s more than 50 years in the import business.
