Bolloré Logistics South Africa receives TAPA Level C certification

Bolloré Logistics South Africa obtained the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Level C certification for its Pomona warehouse in Johannesburg. This is the first African subsidiary to receive this kind of certification.

High Value Theft Targeted (HVTT) asset theft poses a major problem for many industries. Theft of electronics, pharmaceuticals, clothing, high-end foodstuffs, auto parts, building supplies and almost any other cargo of value is a daily occurrence and this type of crime leads to lost revenue, compromised brand integrity, and in some cases harm to consumers.

The TAPA standard mainly focuses on the issue of theft to enable logistics companies to monitor security of the supply chain.

In February 2017, the South African team undertook the TAPA FSR audit certification process, an international recognized security standard that guarantees that Bolloré Logistics' warehouse is under an optimized security management system. The benefit of becoming TAPA certified is to align Bolloré Logistics South Africa warehousing practices with internationally recognized requirements in the fight against cargo crime.

TAPA is respected around the world for its proactive work in protecting high value cargo in transit. TAPA's Facility Security Requirements (FSR) and Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) have been developed by supply chain security professionals and logistics specialists and are widely respected as the leading security standards for the movement of high value, theft targeted goods and many supplier contracts now demand compliance with TAPA Standards.

The certification campaign also aims to build greater awareness for TAPA's manufacturing members of the freight, logistics and transport companies that provide TAPA-certified facilities and trucking operations, providing us more visibility on the market. Bolloré Logistics is an active member of TAPA and strives to be awarded Level A certification in futures.
