Bolloré Logistics South Africa partners with Clarins for a value added warehousing solution
Bolloré Logistics in South Africa has partnered with Clarins South Africa for a value-added warehousing solution.
The renewable contract is for a five-year period and operations have been successfully launched, after many months of planning and implementation. These operations will showcase the quality of Bolloré Logistics’ Supply Chain activities in Africa.
The operations started on 4th January 2017, following a 5-month implementation period. Bolloré Logistics teams created a dedicated space of 2,800 sqm in their Pomona warehouse (Johannesburg), equipped with storage racks on seven levels that can accommodate 2,400 palettes, with the potential for additional facilities for the future expansion and growth.
In order to allow for the preparation of a large volume of retail orders, under the best security conditions, the warehouse has been equipped with dynamic shelving and a short rolling conveyor for transporting prepared packages. The operations are run by our WMS – SQUARE (the computer system for managing the warehouse).
After just one week of operations, the client orders are being handled on time with the required quality and operations have stabilized. The value-added operations of kitting and co-packing are already under way and approximately, 3,300,000 units will be prepared and dispatched in 2017, destined for both South Africa and export.
One of the key factors in the success of this project has been the excellent cooperation between the different mobilized Bolloré Logistics entities, notably the commercial, project and operational teams in South Africa, supported by the Africa Supply Chain teams.
