ALCATEL smartwatch for kids now available in South Africa

Alcatel has launched the ALCATEL MOVE Track&Talk watch in South Africa - a wearable, GPS-connected device which allows kids to communicate with pre-approved contacts allowing parents peace of mind.

“Alcatel is excited to lead the way in the market for kids’ wearables with this new smartwatch,” says Ernst Wittmann, Regional Manager for Southern Africa at ALCATEL. “Wearables are simple, robust, fun, and increasingly affordable. They’re a perfect match for kids who love gadgets and for adults who want to stay in touch with their children wherever they are.”

Simple Enough for a Child to Use

Designed for children from 5 to 9 years old, the 2G connected watch allows parents to call or send voice messages to their kids. Using the simple user interface, children can reply to calls from up to 10 pre-set contacts and make calls to 5 registered numbers.

A Cloud Service for Safety

Through a dedicated smartphone application, compatible with both iOS 7 and above and Android 4.3 and above, parents are able to track their children’s location and to receive notifications when children enter or leave a pre-determined safe zone.

Using a blend of GPS, GSM and Wi-Fi, MOVE Track&Talk can locate children within 60 seconds using the most accurate location information, both indoors and outdoors, thanks to a dedicated cloud service.

Long-Lasting, Tough and Attractive

MOVE Talk&Track is rated IP65, meaning it is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets. The battery has a long standby time, lasting up to four days. The watch also comes in two fresh color combinations, perfect for young children.

It is now available from CNA stores nationwide for the recommended retail price of R1 099.90.
