Airtel Gabon launches career guidebook in partnership with First Lady

Keeping in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility pillars of education and youth empowerment, Airtel Gabon secured the endorsement of the First Lady of Gabon Sylvia Bongo Ondimba to launch a career guidebook.

The book titled “Livre des métiers – Career Guide Book” seeks to guide Gabonese high school graduates to make the right career choices. The book has a collection of over 600 job opportunities in 15 key industries supported by professional testimonials and contacts.

Developed by the Sylvia Bongo Ondimba Foundation ( FSBO ) together with Airtel Gabon, the book is expected to inform and educate students in Gabon on careers, training and job opportunities available in the country. In addition, the book seeks to enable young Gabonese people to find work that is suited to their aspirations and relevant to the labor market.

The First Lady together with the Airtel team have commenced countrywide roadshows to promote the book among high schools students.

“We believe that this book will increase awareness and better decision making among high school students, parents and education professionals,” said Airtel Gabon Managing Director Herve-Olivier Njapoum.

Distribution of the book, which is being offered for free, began on May 15th 2015 to over 60 countrywide.
