Afreximbank targets increased trade financing for Seychelles businesses

To deepen the access of Seychellois businesses to financing for trade-related activities, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), with the support of the Central Bank of Seychelles, will hold a business forum in the Seychellois capital on Thursday, 21 May.

Mrs. Caroline Abel, Governor of the Central Bank, will declare open the forum which will take place at the Eden Bleu Hotel.

The Forum is expected to showcase the line-up of financing programmes and facilities available from Afreximbank to the Seychellois businesses community and will include presentations and case studies on how to access them. Afreximbank’s offerings include credit, loans and guarantees.

Dr. Benedict Oramah, Afreximbank Executive Vice President in charge of Business Development and Corporate Banking, said that the forum was being organized as part of awareness creation programmes being implemented by Afreximbank in its member countries in order to deepen the Bank’s activities across those countries, “especially at this time of great economic opportunities and challenges”.

The forum participants would include representatives of Seychelles’ private sector organisations, such as chambers of commerce and industry, bankers’ associations, and exporters associations, as well as those of government-owned entities operating commercially in the country.
