Odimbite Odimbite: Sharks Can't Swim on Sand

Starting a profitable business is a noble dream. But most would-be entrepreneurs never venture out because of fear: fear of several uncertainties. They are right as starting a business has its own share of challenges like most other ventures. The risk of losing it all abounds with the desire to start a business.

Dreaming of how successful a business is, could-be or should have been isn't enough. Armed with a well-researched business plan, fantastic revenue estimates, appetizing product offerings and failure-proof bottom line projections are not enough. The Shark, your dream or business plan, cannot swim on dry ground - sand. Sharks swim well in deep waters.

Your Feet in the Water

Your dream and well-articulated business plan is possibly half the story. Doing it and making it work is the real story. To do it requires courage. To start a business, do what you know, have been taught or have a passion for. Do what you like to do. Otherwise, learn it, read it up or employ a guide during start-up.

No matter how intelligent a shark is, swimming on sand is unnatural. You have to step out. Implement your plan. Creating a business plan or nursing a dream of starting a business at all is a good indicator that you can do it!
